How Andre uses the Windows Function Keys in Eaglesoft!
The Function Keys (the row of keys on a Windows Qwerty keyboard) can be used to “jump” to other area of Eaglesoft. Former SoftDent users will love these. Here is an ongoing list (I will update as I find new uses):
F1 – As in most Windows based software, the F1 will open the Eaglesoft FAQ (Frequently Asked Question) Page. Internet access is required for this to open.
F2 – “Friend to me” - When at the Virtual Front Office or in the Virtual Clinical Screen hitting the F2 key will add labels to your screen. When your cursor is in the Service Code field, F2 will bring up the Service Code list.
F3 – Will open a Patient Photo (if one is attached) (This does not work in the OnSchedule view)
F4 – Will bring up any Patient Alerts that are marked to “Warn user when encountered”
F5 – In the Account window will recall the Last Patient. In the Service Code field, it will repeat the last Service Code used.
F5 – In the Edit Patient window will recall the last Responsible Party or Policy Holder
F5 – In the Walkout or Treatment Plan windows will recall the last service code used
Ctrl+F5 - In Account screen clears the current Patient
F6 – Will open the Day-At-A-Glance Schedule view when NOT in the OnSchedule screen
F7 – Will open the Week-At-A-Glance Schedule view when NOT in the OnSchedule screen
F8 – Will open an Appointment Search window for the last patient used
F9 – Will toggle from the Virtual Front Office to the Virtual Clinical Screen
F10 – Will highlight the menu item “File” allowing you to navigate menu choices with just your keyboard using the arrow keys.
F11 – Will open the Eaglesoft Task List
F12 – Will open the Medical History screen for a selected patient (or open a dialog box to choose a patient)
If your function keys are not working, it may be that on your keyboard there is a button to turn on and off Function keys. Here is a picture of my keyboard. It lights up when function keys are available.
