How Andre Flags Employers with Wait Periods in Eaglesoft

There are many Employer Plans that have contractual “wait period” policies.
How do you get them entered into Eaglesoft so Walkouts and Treatment Plans are not impacted.

My first and best advice is: Don't add and Employer until the Patient is covered. Put a note in a Block on your schedule to "Add Employer to Tim and Tracy Jones. Coverage is now active" on the date the coverage goes into effect.

If the office uses Task Manager, the reminder can be set there.

It is possible that the Policy holder has a different wait period than other members of the family.  If so, as each becomes eligible, they are connected to the Policy Holder.

When it comes to policies that have wait periods for Service Types (i.e. Major or Restorative services), that is a bit trickier.

One option is to create multiple versions of the same Employer with different percentages in Service Types.

Example:  If there is a wait period for Restorative and Major the Employer is “Conseco Construction - 6m Wait RM” and “Conseco Construction – After Wait Period”.  Within the Employer setup the percentages for Restorative and Major are set to 0% for the Wait Period version and to the actual percentages for the after wait period version.  I would use the same reminder options above to change the Employer.  If there are open claims, you will need to use the Change Insurance method to change the Employer.

Never forget to add notes about Wait Period into the Employer Notes field.  Employer Notes pertain to the Group Coverage and NOT the patient.
