Specialists In Office Who Have Different Fees - How Andre Sets This Up in Eaglesoft.
Got an Endodontist in your General Practice and they charge a different fee for a Molar Root Canal than the General Dentist AND the insurance pays at a different rate for those specialty services?
Well there is a pretty easy way to get it to work.
When there is a Procedure that BOTH the General Dentist and Specialist do, create an New Service Code (I call theses Codes Admin Codes and there is a blog page for this topic).
The Admin Code would have a Service Code used for the Endodontist would starts with an “S” and show as a Standard fee the Specialty Fee. The Service Code used for the General Dentist would be the default “D” code. Below is and example of how a Admin Code for a Molar Root Canal Therapy would be set up.
3. Now you have a Service code that will bill at a higher fee while still using the proper ADA Code.
4. You can then attach the new S3330 code to a Fee Schedule and/or Coverage Book with the allowances and coverage information based on the Specialist’s reimbursement.
5. Make sure in the Provider Identification number that the Specialist are using the proper Specialty Code (see pic below)
