Andre Explains the Two Options that Update the Last BWs, FMX and Pan in Eaglesoft
There are two things that update Last FMX, Panoramic and Bitewings. Ther are:
1) Image Templates
2) Service Codes
I have always trained practices to use the Service Code option to update these dates. Why? Because many time an office will use a Image Template (“Mount”) to capture and image or import an image only to find that the FMX, Pan or Bitewing dates now correspond to that import.
My preferred method is to go to List>Service Codes and edit the FMX, Bitewing(s) and Panoramic codes. Within each there is an option to (see Picture) .
The FMX Service Code(s) should Update Patient’s Last FMX and Update Patient’s Last Bitewings.
The Bitewing Service Code(s) should Update Patient’s Last Bitewings
The Panoramic Service Code should Update Patient’s Last Panoramic.
When you update this option you will get the following warning:
These updated dates will be seen in the Account Screen (see picture).
This updated information will also be shown in the bottom right corner if the Chart window (see picture).
The next option (not one I recommend) is to have the Image Template (“Mount”) update FMX, Pan and Bitewing dates. This is done by first going to the Virtual Clinical Screen. Then List>Image Templates and editing the FMX, Pan and Bitewing Templates (there may be multiple versions). When you edit a Template that has been used you will get a “This template is being used by and image exam. The image positions cannot be modified.” This isn’t a problem as we are not modifying positions. Clock OK. In the bottom right of the window, uncheck the Update Properties for Patients last Full Mouth, Panoramic and Bitewings.
