How Andre’s Explains the Eaglesoft Date Vs Days

A "Day" in Eaglesoft is a period of time that begins after an End of Day is processed and ends when the next End of Day is processes.

A "Date" in Eaglesoft is the noted Date of Service.

EXAMPLE: IF Jan 1st you find that a PA was taken Dec 31st, I can edit a Walkout and change the Date of Service back to 12/31. The PA transaction will be on a report using the Range of End of Days Jan 1. It will also show in the Range of Dates if I ran 12/1 - 12/31.

Date of Service 12/31

Date of Transaction 1/1

So... "Range of Dates" is a Rage of Dates of Service and a "Range of End of Days" is a Range of transactions that happened in a “Workday” (EOD).

A "DAY" is a combinations of thing enter during a Period from EOD to EOD.

A "Date" is a Date of Service

EXAMPLE:

I can edit a transaction and make the date of service 3/6/19XX so it will show up on my birthday *hint hint* but it will STILL be on today's E-O-DAY

A "WEEK" is all the EODs from Sunday through Saturday.

So... You can say “This WEEK" and get EODs from 1/17-1/23 but if you do Range of End of DATES there could have been some transaction posted 3 years ago by someone who wanted it to have a service posted on “Date of Service” 1/18/2021.

When a Day OR Month is closed, you CAN'T "go back and make any changes". The Days are locked. You can change a Date but not the Day. If the change something from a different Date, it does not change the DAY (i.e. the EOD is not impacted) It will be on "today's" Day and EOD.
