How Andre Charts A Watch In Eaglesoft
In Eaglesoft, you can right click on a tooth and add a “Watch” to a tooth. THAT’S AWESOME! Until, you have to figure out what the heck you were watching. To figure that out, you have to right click on the tooth (again) and view the watch. So, if a Patient has a Mesial Incisal “chip” the office is “watching” you have the option of Adding a Watch OR (my preference) adding a Condition “Watch” and making the Condition’s Affected Area be Surface instead of Tooth.
By charting a Condition “Watch” instead of Adding a Watch the situation becomes immediately visible (see pic where #8 us charted as a Add Watch MI and #9 is charted as a Condition Watch MI,
The default Condition is Eaglesoft is set to Affected Area Tooth and must be change to Surface. You also have to connect the Surface Restoration Draw Type to the Condition.
When/IF a Condition Watch is no longer present or when a service is performed (Completed) You would have to remove the “Yellow Bar” Watch. That would mean the Watch (right click and Remove Watch) it's gone. No history (except you progress notes). But the yellow bar is trashed as would be any notes written in the "yellow bar watch". With a Condition of Watch, Eaglesoft has a much underused option to mark a Condition "No Longer Present" (NLP) (see Pic) which will change to the color designated in your Charting Preferences.
